
Ali Syed
Ali Syed currently consults with the Asian Development Bank on city logistics planning focused
on greening freight systems and reducing urban congestion, with the objective of making city
logistics more sustainable and efficient.
Previously, he was engaged with Indiaโs G20 India Presidency, where he worked on advancing the
concept of LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) โ promoting sustainable consumption and
responsible living as a development framework.
Having completed his masterโs degree at the University for Peace, a United Nationsโmandated
institution based in Costa Rica, Ali developed strong academic and diplomatic linkages between
India and Latin America. He has actively contributed to strengthening IndiaโCosta Rica relations
through trade discussions and collaborations in sustainability and eco-tourism. He has also served in
an ambassadorial capacity supporting bilateral engagement.
Ali is a regular columnist writing on nuclear technology, sustainability transitions, and IndiaโLatin
America trade relations.
Beyond his professional work, he practices Ashtanga yoga and enjoys reading autobiographies.
